have been wanting to do this for a long time and i feel that broughton needs it. where the current (defunct) systems board is, i would like to replace this with a roof area spanning the entire space inbetween the columns. the roof could be of differing angles and heights, or simply be akin to demon wall roof. it would be no higher than the current woodie.
what do people think? i've been trying to source free wood from the bbc's in sheff but graeme has told me that the wood is not bmc's to give away. but holds i can get some of to start it up.
i shall put up a for/against up at the wall soon as i'm not getting every worshipper to broughton on here.
let me know your views here tho in the mean time
love ste li

Tom Bond and myself are planning to re set the boulder some time soon. Also the 45 seems to be largely without documented problems so a couple of books will be placed around for those that use it to note some problems in (Some easier ones (V0-V2) would be nice as well ) and their contents added into the bible at some point along with some of the new circuits from the main wall. Any suggestions/comments/requests ?

I finally moved to Manchester and have been availing myself of the delights of Broughton's bendcrete monster at least thrice a week. When i'm not bursting my fingers trying to hang on I'd like to talk about bursting my fingers trying to hang on.....but nobody seems to post on here so I just end up boring my wife. Campus rungs - I have nine to donate for free to replace the B&Q first jointers.

I was thinking of taking some or all of the volumes off the free standing boulder and starting to set a couple of new problems on here. This bloc used to be really good to warm up on but seems to of fallen into disuse Would anyone object to any of this? I'm sick of nearly banging my head on that big red volume, its definatley coming off

Took the red one off last night and set a couple of warm up problems on this board. Nothing exciting I'm afraid. Having the red one off has made a big difference I think

I went and about 40 people turned up. We got loads of work done, on the and around the crag, then a sunny afternoon of routes (none of which needed any cleaning) and finally nipped in to the Flag for a couple of pints of Timothy Taylors Landlord. A perfect end to a really enjoyable day.

Check out extremerock.co.uk for pictures showing the birth of Broughton. Just think, with this info we could do it all again in a different location! Photos provided by Geoff Hibbert, a co founder of extremerock.co.uk. The photos are worth seeing just to see what he looked like with HAIR!
Check the photos out on the URL: http://www.extremerock.co.uk/index.php/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,184/?g2_itemId=2623

Hello all. This prodigal son would like to come back into the Broughton family, when are the nights and times to come? Are Tuesdays and Thursdays still the busy and is there still a group that have a drink at the Crescent after climbing? Its great to see a Broughton site back on the net, missed Pete’s old site.

Well, here you go. A whole Wiki for Broughton. Now we can all spend our working day debating our favourite hold. The old site (www.broughton.co.uk) had fallen down, so Nick Colton was looking upset since no one had the latest guide. Determined to make him a happy man once more, I registered www.broughtonpower.co..uk, started typing some stuff in, then rather too late thought, "damn, this is too much like work, let's have a Wiki instead". So off you go, go forth and add stuff if you want.
Just don't delete the problem list...

If you folk need any assistance with stuff give us a shout. Was chatting with Nige Bonnett this weekend and he put me on to your wiki. This 'summer' we set up extremerock.co.uk. Put a link on ours to yours...... need to keep the word out about Broughton!
Cheers, R. A. G. & S.

NBH sounds like a good plan, combined with V grades.
But hell, what do I know, I'd only make about 2 on the relative scale anyway1
Anyway, fantastic effort getting it back up there.
